Synopsis:
In this presentation about Disability Equality Training (DET) has been adopted as a dental curriculum component for dental students in Universiti Malaya. The training helps to promote positive awareness towards people with disabilities (PWD) by understanding the environmental and social barriers that PWD may encounter, so as to prepare future dentists in managing dental patients in the Special Care Dentistry clinic. Nevertheless, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, lecturers and DET trainers were challenged to design an online module whilst still maintaining students’ active participation. During this session, I will be sharing about this novel invention in online teaching module for DET, by employing an interactive online DET or e-DET for dental students at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya.
